David Dikken
Mr. David Dikken commenced a career in metrology after graduation from the University of Minnesota in Physics/Geology in 1989. Currently Mr. Dikken serves as CEO and CTO of MTL-X Ltd. Hong Kong and is responsible for development of systems for complex and difficult precision measurements related to fine aerosol emissions (PM2.5 and PM1.0). Over the past 29 years he has designed and worked with measurement systems that focus on providing the appropriate environment, measurement method, equipment integration with software, and uncertainty analysis to achieve state of the art measurement systems. His disciplines of interest and include Mass, Temperature, Volume, Pressure, Moisture, Torque, and Length. This broad metrology back ground has allowed for making unprecedented measurements of fine aerosol airborne particulate such as the gravimetric determination of PM1.0. While making measurements and designing systems has been the core of his activity, he also enjoys the opportunity to stay involved in the broader metrology community and began serving the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST/NVLAP) in 1994 as a technical expert for laboratory accreditation to ISO 17025. His areas of publications and seminar consultancy include Mass Metrology, Laboratory Automation, Measurement Uncertainty and Aerosol Fine Particulate Measurements. He has enjoyed serving in these capacities for dozens of clients in more than 20 countries spread across, Europe, North America and Asia.
