Dr. Prith Banerjee

Dr. Prith Banerjee is Chief Technology Officer at ANSYS, a leader in engineering simulation. Prior to that, he was EVP and CTO of Schneider Electric. Formerly, he was Managing Director of Global Technology R&D at Accenture. Earlier, he was EVP and CTO of ABB. Previously, he was Director of HP Labs. Formerly, he was Dean of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Formerly he was Chairman of ECE at Northwestern. Formerly, he was professor of ECE at the University of Illinois. In 2000, he founded AccelChip which was sold to Xilinx Inc. in 2006. During 2005-2011, he was founder, Chairman and Chief Scientist of BINACHIP. Banerjee currently serves on the Board of Directors of Cubic and Turntide. In the past, he has served on Boardd of Cray and Anita Borg Institute, and the Technical Advisory Boards of Ambit, Atrenta , Calypto, Cypress, Ingram Micro, and Virsec. He was listed in the FastCompany list of 100 top business leaders in 2009. He is a fellow of the AAAS, ACM and IEEE. He received a B.Tech. in electronics engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana.

John Lee

John received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Carnegie Mellon University. Previously he was CEO of Gear Design Solutions (acquired by ANSYS in 2015) and a co-founder of Performance Signal Integrity (founded in 1992; acquired by Avant! in 1994) which led to Star-RCXT, and Mojave Design which led to Quartz DRC (founded in 2002; acquired by Magma in 2004). John held the position of General Manager at Magma Design Automation and has been a board member for technology and non-profit organizations.

Abstract

Open, extensible, and proven platforms for multiphysics analysis are essential to deliver reliable, and high performing electronic systems, across all industries, including mobile, high-performance computing, automotive, aerospace, and industrial applications. The Ansys platform provides best-in-class electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical solvers, to deliver power-integrity, thermal-integrity, signal-integrity and electronics reliability solutions that enable popular design solutions to deliver better products, earlier. The presentation will discuss the current state, and future direction of the Ansys platform.

David Lyou is the Chief Operating Officer of Altek Semiconductor. He served as the Executive Vice President of Himax Technology, Inc., leading the Intelligent Sensing Product and Business Unit, Display TCON Product and Business Unit and the ASIC Design Engineering Center from 2011 to 2016 and 2018 to 2020. In Himax, he led the teams to develop and market the world leading 3D structured light ASIC and system, and the ultra-low power AIoT products. From 2016 to 2017, he served as the Executive Vice President of ALi Tech. leading the RD and Engineering units of Set-Top box product.

David was the founder and CEO of Socle Technology Corp which is a professional SoC platform based design service company from 2001 to 2010. Prior to Socle, he was the senior director of Synopsys from 1997 to 2001, where he built up a whole Professional Service Group in Asia Pacific from a few consulting staffs to the well-organized design service centers across all Asia Pacific countries and Japan. Before Synopsys, he was the department manager of Embedded Controller and LSI Design Center of Macronix int. Co., Ltd.

David earned his bachelor degree of Computer Engineering from National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan, and master degree of Science of Computer Engineering in University of Southern California in USA.

Judy Curran

Judy is an accomplished senior automotive executive with over 30 years of experience in vehicle program, engineering and technology leadership. She currently is responsible for the automotive strategy at Ansys; partnering with OEMs and suppliers in their digital transformation. She is also a corporate board member at MicroVision providing guidance on laser beam technology and future applications in the automotive industry.

Career:

2019 – Present Ansys

Ms. Curran is responsible for the Automotive Strategy at Ansys including the go-to-market plans and the development of new simulation workflows aligned with latest automotive trends such as electrification, assisted driving and autonomy. She partners with Ansys’s OEM and Supplier customers in the digital transformation of their engineering organizations through the use of multi-physics simulation.

1986-2018 Ford Motor Company

Ms. Curran served in a number of executive positions including Director of Technology Strategy (2014-2018) where she developed the cross-vehicle global strategy for key new technologies including Assisted Driving, Infotainment, new Electrical Architectures, and Connectivity.

She was the Vehicle Line Director (2010-2014) of the CD product line which included the Fusion/Mondeo, Edge, SMax, Taurus and Galaxy vehicles. In this role she was responsible for the income/profit statement of the vehicles, and leading the global cross-functional teams in delivering the vehicles from studio concept to the production floor.

Ms. Curran was the Vehicle Evaluation and Validation Director (2007-2010) where she was responsible for all the test facilities, operations, and test processes including powertrain dynamometers, crash facilities, and various component test chambers.

Ms. Curran was promoted to the executive/director level in 2005 when she was given the role of VP, Engineering for Automotive Components Holding LLC (2005-2007) where she managed the engineering teams for key automotive components including lighting, cockpit, chassis, and powertrain subsystems.

Previously, Ms. Curran served a number of roles in powertrain controls, software design, and vehicle programs.

Navin's bio

Navin is the Vice President and General Manager of the Cloud and Platform business at Ansys which is responsible for delivering capabilities for simulation data management, model-based system engineering, design explorations, and cloud and HPC deployment across the ANSYS portfolio. Previously, Navin was Head of Architecture and Technology at Infosys where he led the development of the Infosys AI and Automation platform. With a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cornell University and a B.Tech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Navin started his career at the IBM Watson Research Center. His background includes being the Chief Architect at SuccessFactors (acquired by SAP), CTO at CubeTree (acquired by SucessFactors), Vice President of Engineering at Center’d (acquired by Google) and Chief Architect of Amazon AWS Flexible Payments Services.
