with great success

The event explored whole-new application services,
shaped an AI-enabled new era and created new industry values.

AI EXPO Taiwan 2023, co-organized by DIGITIMES, the Artificial Intelligence Technology Foundation and IC Broadcasting FM97.5, concluded successfully on April 21, 2023 at the Taipei Huashan Cultural and Creative Park. With the full support of 150 companies and brands as well as 30 universities and artificial intelligence research centers in Taiwan, this year’s event was attended by a surging number of exhibitors and visitors. A record-breaking total of 11,500 people visited AI EXPO Taiwan 2023, an increase of 337% over the previous year, indicating AI’s fast-growing popularity.

An international exchange platform gathering guests from the industry, government, academia and research

VIP guests from the industry, government, academia and research including Dr. C.K. Mao, Former President of Executive Yuan, Jiunn-Shiow Lin, Deputy Director General, Administration for Digital Industries, Hui-Min Chen, Deputy Commissioner, Department of Information Technology, Taipei City Government, Colley Hwang, Founder & President, DIGITIMES, Greta Wen, CEO, AIF, and Yu-Cheng Su, General Manager, IC975 kickstarted the event.

In collaboration with the International Cooperation and Development Foundation (ICDF), commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, AI EXPO Taiwan 2023 hosted a delegation of 22 national officials and business executives from countries including Vietnam, the Philippines and Thailand in Southeast Asia, Argentina, Chile and Colombia in Latin America, the Czech Republic and Poland in Europe, and Mongolia. This signifies DIGITIMES’ AI EXPO Taiwan has become a key AI exchange platform in Asia.

Establishing dominance and turning possibility into reality

Keynote speakers including Eric Huang, Vice President, Synergies, Kevin Chang, Manufacturing Industry Executive, Microsoft, Ryan Shen, Machine Learning Architect, Google Cloud, and Riccardo Sun, CEO, Kapito shared their views on the importance of data empowerment and explored how to co-create the future of intelligence. The grand finale session was led by AIF CEO Greta Wen, joined by Ming-Feng Tsai, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, National Chengchi University and Po-Liang Chen, Assistant Professor, College of Law and International College of Innovation, National Chengchi University, for a fascinating discussion on how to build a Trusted AI ecosystem through ChatGPT. The sessions were highly attended and received with great enthusiasm.

Inviting more iconic companies to join AI EXPO

A total of 150+ brands demonstrated their latest AI-enabled applications at the exhibition area, including leading cloud solution providers AWS and Google Cloud, analog IC supplier ADI and industrial robotics company Techman Robot. AI EXPO Taiwan 2023 showcased critical AI technologies that drive digital transformation and enable creative competitiveness.

AI talent incubation is the key to sustainability

The AI Junior Award 2023, titled "AI for Green," attracted 27 teams and nearly 100 students to join the competition. Five teams entered the final contest and presented their innovations at the event. The team from the National Taipei University of Science and Technology (NTUT) won the gold medal and a scholarship of NT$100,000 with their wind turbine blade defect detection solution.
